May Goals

ImageI am one of those people who LOVES to write things down. Obviously, I have a blog. But, I find that when I write down my goals I am more likely to achieve them.

Now every time people talk about goals they always mention SMART goals. I have heard this many different time.

What are SMART goals?

S – Specific

M – Measurable

A – Attainable

R – Realistic

T – Timely

I thought it was be a great idea for us to create some goals for May. I am going to write down five and I want you to write one in the comments below. Lets make the most of May.

Goals:

1.) By the end of May I want to have read five books.

I love reading. It is so important to me, I have a goal for the end of the year to have read 50 books.

2.) I want to post at least 2 blog posts a week.

Now this one scares me. I never know how things are going to turn out or if I will have time to do things but I believe that I can do this.

3.) Have 3 training runs a week.

Some of you may know that I run half marathons. I have one planned for the beginning of June and it is important for me to improve my time.

4.) Become a Fitness Instructor.

I have my final exam on May 24, 2013. I want to do well and not have to repeat the test. This goal doesn’t seem too hard.

5.) Interact with my readers and subscriber more.

I want to grow my relationship with all my readers. You guys are really important to me and I want to get to know you better.

Can’t wait to hear your goals.

For the month of January I read four books. I liked every one of these books, below are my reviews of each of the books as well as a list of the books I want to read for the month of February.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Rating: 5/5

I loved this book. I am so glad I got to start of my new year with this book. I wasn’t expecting to love it so much. I read this book in 3 days. It is about a girl named Mara who doesn’t remember how her friends died when a building collapses. It is about her discovering what really happened. She meets a boy named Noah who helps her through her hard time. If you like a book that isn’t based only around the romance aspect I recommend this book. It has a great story line and keeps you guessing as to what their secrets are.

Defiance by R.J Redwine

Rating: 4/5

After Mara Dyer I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like this book, but it really surprised me. It is a great dystopian novel. It is about a girl named Rachel who lives in a society where each women has a protector. After her father is declared dead she is given a new protector named Logan who also happens to be her father apprentice and the boy she declared her love to a few years before. Rachel does not believe her father is dead, and the novel is about Logan and Rachel trying to find her father. I really enjoyed this book, there were a few parts that felt slow but other than that it was a really great book. I recommend to anyone who loves a good dystopian novel.

Starters by Lissa Price

Rating: 4/5

To be honest I wasn’t sure about this novel. It was given to me a present and I wasn’t sure if i’d like the scifi aspect of it, but it really got my attention. This book is about a girl named Callie who lives is a world there adults do not excisit there are only Starters (Kid-Teens) and Enders (Seniors) Since Callie is a Starter she cannot get a job or own a house. She decided she is going to sell her body to Enders. This means that Ender can rent her body and control it through her mind. All in all, something goes wrong and Callie wakes up in the Ender life and had to figure out why bad things are happening. I look forward to reading the last book to the story. I really enjoyed the book. I recomend it to anyone who wants to try something different. My only problem was that there were a few cliche within the book (but you cannot really avoid those).

Host by Stephanie Meyer

Rating: 3/5

I was looking forward to this book so much. I was a huge twilight fan and looked forward to reading this book. Once I heard there was a movie coming out I knew I had to get on this fast. It is about a world that has been taken over by Alien souls. Melanie is captured by these aliens and a soul is put into her body. The only problem is the Melanie can still talk to the soul. They end up trying to help each other and Wander (the soul) starts to build a relationship with Melanie and starts to have feeling for the people in her life. It is a about how Wander helps Melanie and the other humans that are left. I really enjoyed this book, my only problem was how LONG is was. It is about 800 plus pages and by the last 3rd of the book I was skipping pages just to get it finished. This is unfortunately just how Stephanie writes. I still am going to see the movie and really enjoyed the interesting story line.

 February To-Be-Reads

1.) Across the Universe by Beth Revis

2.) The Death Cure by James Dashner

3.) The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick

4.) Insurgent by Veronica Roth

5.) The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I hope you guys enjoyed this write up, I also have made a video describing all of the above books.
